1920 50c pale green, "G. Mejia" overprint signature by Gonzalo Mejía, consular forerunner on commercial cover front from New York to Bogota, posted at the SCDATA consular office in New York, where it was also additionally franked with National Post 3c pair for the internal delivery in Colombia, then placed inside another cover which was sent to Barranquilla, with the hand overprinted stamp being cancelled by SCADTA hs of Barranquilla, the rest of the franking tied by receiving ds at Bogota, and "APR 23 1922" dater of the flight alongside, two vertical creases of which one passes through the 50c; cert. Sismondo (2003); one of only three covers or cover fronts recorded bearing the 50c Gonzalo Mejía overprint (the first consular usage).
