Privately printed post card for the benefit of the N.S.D.A.P. Winterhilfwerk (Winter Charity Relief Fund). The “stamp” depicts the First German Rocket Flight of 1934. The card was “posted” in Thale, Harz on 28 January 1934 to Gerhard Zucker, the rocket constructor, in Hasselfelde, another village in Harz.
Harz, the most northerly mountain range in Germany, lies between the Weser and Elbe rivers, occupying parts of the German Lander (states) of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
