This Nurnberg view card offers the popular western view of the Imperial Castle and the bridge beside the zoological garden gate.
The Kaiserburg or Imperial Castle was probably founded in the ll,h century, and enlarged by Frederick Barbarossa in the 12,h. It was frequently altered through the years. The zoological gardens on the west side of the Castle are said to have been laid out in 1487.
