The special cancellation doubles the value of the card. The best translation of “Lautawerk” this collector can come up with is “Virtue of Work.” Lausitz, however, was the name of a region in 1939 Northern Germany between the Elbe and Oder Rivers about 75 kilometers (45 miles) southeast of Dresden.
