1940 (Feb. 22) WEST CHINA UNION UNIVERSITY airmail cover sent from Chengtu to U.S.A., endorsed “Air Mail in China”, franked on front 1932-37 Third Peking print Air Mail issue, 15c. deep green (Type B) x 2 (one with right margin and one with lower right damaged), and 1939 Dr. SYS issue, Chung Hwa print $1 sepia & red brown, with “Chengtu” anti-bandit overprint in violet (paying $1.30 in total: double weight of domestic air mail rates $0.50 + $0.30, plus double weight of international surface mail rates $0.25 + $0.25), all tied by three strikes of CHENGTU 1940 Feb. 22 cds, on reverse with VICTORA HONG KONG 25 FE 40 transit cds.
