1941 General Government Impromptu souvenir card with the 12, 24, 30, 40 Gr. and 3 Zl
Lot 713
Impromptu souvenir card with the 12, 24, 30, 40 Gr. and 3 Zl. values of the 1 April 1940 Dienstmarken Issue postmarked Krakau 24 February 1941.
This set of stamps was designed by W. Krebb and engraved by F. Lorber. They were printed by the photogravure and typographical method on a white, medium weight, unwatermarked paper with a yellow-tinged gum ribbed horizontally or plain. This printing method required a more complicated process; first the stamps were printed without denominations, then they were processed a second time to print the face values. Consequently, some of the stamps are drastically shifted.
