1941 University of Nanking cover sent by airmail from Chengtu to U.S.A., endorsed “Via CLIPPER MAIL”, franked on front 931-37 Dr. SYS issue, Second London print, 25c. ultramarine, vertical pair, and 1940 Dr. SYS Hong Kong Dah Tung print, $2 red brown & blue x 2, both with “Chengtu” anti-bandit overprint in violet, all tied by four CHENGTU 9 1941 Feb. 27 cds, an encircled “A.V.2” and a rectangular “NOT OPENED BY CENSOR” handstamps in violet, backstamped VICTORIA HONG KONG 3 MR 41 double-ring cds. Part of cover back torn missing and with some age toning spots along the flap.
