1942 (May 22) airmail cover sent from Chengtu to U.S.A., franked on front 1939 Hong Kong Commercial Press Martyrs issue, 20c. light blue, 1940 Dr. SYS Hong Kong Dah Tung print $10 violet & green with “Chengtu” anti-bandit overprint in blue, and 1940 Hong Kong Commercial Press Air Mail issue, $1 apple green, tied by three strikes of CHENGTU 1942.5.22 cds. Cover opened and resealed with an “OPENED BY EXAMINER P.C. 90” censor label and tied by an octagonal crowned “PASSED DHA/9” censor handstamp in violet. Flap on back bears a long tear and the censor label water-stained.
