1901 (30 January) Registered combination cover of a letter sent by a priest (священник) of the village of Krasnoe (Красное) in the Nikolsk district (Vologda province) to Moscow.

To pay for the service of the Imperial Russian Post, two blue 7-kopek stamps (issued in 1889), one for postage and one for registration, have been affixed to the reverse of the registered cover of the first weight class and canceled in the Nikolsk post & telegraph office on 30 Jan 1901 (PTK). The letter left Nikolsk on 2 Feb 1901 and arrived in Moscow on 7 Feb 1901.

To pay for the preliminary service of the Nikolsk Zemstvo post from Krasnoe to Nikolsk, two black, sky-blue, yellow, light green and carmine red 2-kopek Nikolsk Zemstvo stamps, tariff for registered letters, have been affixed to the cover (Schmidt #3). The two Zemstvo stamps on this cover were endorsed by a pen cross.

The recipient is the company "Immer and son" (Иммер и сын) which worked in gardening. Known several other Zemstvos covers sent to the same address from other districts.

Covers with Zemstvo stamp handled by the Zemstvo post of the Nikolsk district are not common. Up to now, about 30 covers of the district were recorded.
