The first auction we held at ÁUREO was in April 1989. Four months later we moved to our own premises in Bori i Fontestà street. After a further five years, we upgraded to an even larger neighbouring facility in Beethoven street, to match our growing business needs.
Since the inception of our company, we have differentiated ourselves in our field by using highly efficient and transparent working methods.
Aside from holding auctions in general numismatics, we have published catalogues of highly specialized collections in several fields such as Roman, Iberian, Medieval an specific reigns in Modern history. These catalogues have set a benchmark in the libraries of our costumers.
Furthermore, annually we produce a catalogue "SELECCION" that displays 500 specially sought-after pieces chosen form the hightlights of that year.
In the summer of 2007 ÁUREO purchased the firm CALICÓ, the oldest numismatic company in Spain with more than a century of activity and worldwide acknowledgement. Following this merger, our offices moved to the traditional home of CALICÓ, in the historic centre of Barcelona. We hope to serve in our current site the numerous collectors who trust in our work.
