This Remembrance of the 1934 Reichsparteitag presents a western view of Nurnberg Imperial Castle and the bridge beside the zoological garden gate.
Nurnberg’s Imperial Castle or Kaiserburg was at the center of the Empire’s history longer and more frequently than any other German castle. Of all imperial castles it was probably the only one to survive from feudal days and the rise of towns in the late Middle Ages down to the beginning of modern times. Neither the history nor the silhouette of Nurnberg is thinkable without it.
